Terms & Liability
Last updated: August 2026 · Please read carefully.
By using QuoteVya, you agree to the terms below. They include a broad release of liability — meaning you give up the right to sue us for damages arising from your use of the platform.
1. Informational use only — not professional advice
QuoteVya (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides informational tools only. Our quote checks, clarity scores, cost estimates, and benchmarks are generated from documents you submit and from aggregated, anonymized pricing observations. None of this is a professional opinion, a contractor referral, a building inspection, an engineering report, legal advice, or financial advice.
Always verify any quote, scope, price, or contractor with a qualified, licensed, and insured roofing professional before signing a contract or paying any money. A “verified” badge on our platform only indicates that we have checked documents a contractor submitted to us — it is not an endorsement, a warranty of their work, or a guarantee of their performance.
2. No warranty
The platform is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, or non-infringement. We do not promise that estimates, scores, or benchmarks are correct, complete, or applicable to your specific roof, location, or situation. Pricing data may be incomplete or unrepresentative, especially in areas with few observations.
3. Assumption of risk
You accept full responsibility for any decisions you make based on information from the platform — including whether to hire, negotiate with, pay, or decline any contractor, and whether to proceed with any roofing work. Roofing is inherently dangerous and involves property, weather, structural, and financial risks. You assume all such risks associated with your use of the platform and any work you undertake as a result.
4. Release of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release, waive, and discharge QuoteVya and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, costs, or liabilities — known or unknown, direct or indirect — arising out of or related to your use of the platform, any quote, estimate, score, or benchmark it produces, and any interaction with, or work performed by, any contractor you connect with through the platform.
This release covers, without limitation, claims for property damage, personal injury, defective workmanship, financial loss, overpayment, delays, breach of contract by a contractor, and any claim that you were misled by an estimate or score. You agree you will not sue us, and if you do, you agree to pay our reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs if a court finds this release enforceable.
5. Limitation of liability
Under no circumstances will QuoteVya be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or savings, arising from your use of the platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the platform is limited to the greater of (a) the amount, if any, you paid us to use the platform in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations; in that case, the above limits apply to the maximum extent permitted.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless QuoteVya and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claim, damage, or expense (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
7. Your data & retention consent
When you upload a quote, you grant us permission to retain the uploaded documents and the extracted details to improve pricing accuracy, benchmarks, and platform services. We do not broadcast your contact details to contractors. Anonymous pricing observations may be shared in aggregate, without your name, address, or contact information. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and for having the right to share it.
8. Third-party contractors
Contractors are independent third parties, not our agents or employees. We do not control their work, pricing, scheduling, or conduct, and we are not a party to any contract between you and a contractor. Any dispute with a contractor is between you and that contractor.
9. Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. Some states give consumers rights that cannot be waived; nothing in these terms limits those rights.
